Wild Earth

Our mission is to implement free programs, foster connections, and empower BIPOC individuals to dismantle systemic barriers and foster a more just and inclusive society. Utilizing principles and elements of design to create luxurious, accessible, spaces, Wild Earth (WE) is the culmination of my 20-year journey as an educator, artist and designer, dedicated to community spaces and working with young people. WE is currently seeking funding to lease Makerhoods' stunning 3200 sq foot greenhouse in Newark's Central ward. I am designing the greenhouse to be our hub, addressing food security and enhancing the neighborhood's access to beautiful spaces. We'll also host artist residencies aimed at collectively solving for: food security, urban blight, and the impacts of gentrification.

Wild Earth (WE) envisions a world where communities flourish with equitable access to quality food, inspiring living and gathering spaces, and educational opportunities. WE will warmly welcome surrounding communities into our inclusive space. Please stay tuned for a website that shares the work we have done, are doing and are developing. Thank you for your curiosity.

The video seen above is from The Outdoor Living Room project, one of the many initiatives of Wild Earth. Creating space for community engagement through creative placemaking with healing arts programming that inspires and invigorates Newark residents. The objective of this initiative is to gather folks, acknowledge the land on which we reside, unify in the history of our origins, and rejoice in redefining what community looks like. Started in 2020, as an answer to the pandemic and transitioning from indoor, healing arts programming to outdoor programming. Funded in 2021 and 2022 via Newark Arts, Creative Catalyst grant.
